What is Obedience Training?
Obedience training is the training of a dog, such as teaching the dog to consistently respond to basic commands such as "sit", "stay" and "come". There are competition within clubs such as the American Kennel Club, United Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club, where additional commands, accuracy and performance are scored and judged. Examples of such advanced commands are: "roll over", "fetch", "shake hands", "speak", "shake" and more.
Typically, collars, leashes and clickers are used to help train the dog. Sometimes, also rewards like cookies are added.
